El Carriel: Authentic Colombian Bakery Experience in Mauldin, SC

This is my absolute favorite place to eat. I travel an hour to go get their food. I would recommend Papa de carne with the hot sauce! I would post a picture but I already ate them

What an amazing place to go eat, the food taste amazing, I'm a vegetarian, and Danna the server did an amazing job telling me what option could I get, and as a vegetarian I don't receive this treat in all restaurant. I recommend it with no doubt.

We went to a family reunion in SC, and I started having cravings for Colombian food. This spot was recommended by the cashier at the Total Beauty store in Spartanburg, and then by one of our clients in Eatonton, GA. It did not disappoint. Delicious!!! Riiiiiiiiiicooooooooo le digo ¡qué delicia! This place is not for the faint of heart or for anyone who is counting calories or on a diet. Either save up your points, drink lo-cal protein shakes for a week to be able to freely enjoy! Or just say to yourself, "bump it!", and go on and enjoy! You will need put down a pallet or hang a hammock and take a long nap after eating here. But you will sleep with a smile on your face. Mis respetos

The food is always good but if you order certain plates through uber eats they will almost never include lime or the bread that says is included in the plate sometimes even leave out the potatoes, it’s usually 2 out of 3 but have received orders missing all three. Also if i add note for an extra red sauce they give me none instead as this happened more than once so i stopped asking and just hope they give me at least one even though i usually order two plates. I also usually get an order of the delicious cheese sticks i wish they would give me a sauce when i order it and have even added a note to add a surcharge if necessary but have never gotten it. It can truly be a gamble as i think ive only gotten a perfect order once even though i have ordered the same order well over 50 times. Although i am usually frustrated with how the order is put together, or lack thereof, the food is always good and i dream of getting a perfect order from this restaurant. Maybe one day. Edit: thank you for the quick response this order today on 5-14-24 recieved at 3:55 pm was nearly perfect, only lacking potatoes. Picture included i still look forward to being a loyal customer as the food is always delicious.

Great place for genuine Colombian food and grocery treats from Colombia… always a small wait due to popularity of menu variety… food and portions are excellent

The food was amazing! The service was great! We also had fresh squeezed Orange juice witch was a great price for the amount you get! Overall 10/10 would recommend.

Came here with my family during a quick trip and was very pleased with the service. Our server Dana gave the best recommendations! Overall the ambiance service and food were amazing. Will be coming back to visit soon. Thanks Dana!

If you want authentic-ish Colombian food, need to ship a package or want some basic Hispanic snacks or cookware, El Carriel is a great place to go. Cafeteria style tables with great service and the pastries and lunches were good.
